Happy and Blessed Eid Mubarak for 10th April

The practice will be closed on the following days from 1pm for staff training:
  • 24TH April
  • 16th May 
  • 6th June
  • 27th June
Buildings
  • Causeway Medical Centre will be closed from 1pm on Mondays and Thursdays for the foreseeable future. This is due to staff issues currently being experienced.
  • The practice has met with Councillor Andy Carter to discuss the ongoing issues with the Causeway site, to see if there are any buildings / space becoming available for development of a new site.

 

  • Great Sankey Health Centre:  

The building works are now all finished, we now have 2 new clinical rooms, and the first floor is now being utilised for non-patient facing staff, i.e. Admin / Pharmacists.

Pharmacy First Projects
  • Pharmacy First is a project that is now rolled out across all Pharmacists in Warrington, and across England. This allows Pharmacists to prescribe antibiotics, if required. 
  • You may well be asked to attend the Pharmacy if you have certain medical conditions:
  1. Urinary Tract Infections - female aged 18-65 years. 
  2. Impetigo - aged over 1 year; 
  3. Acute sore throat - aged over 5 years. 
  4. Shingles – aged over 18 years; 
  5. Infected insect bite – aged over 1 years. 
  6. Acute sinusitis – aged over 12 years; 
  7. Acute Otitis Media (Ear-ache) – aged 1 – 17 years.
COVID Vaccines

Covid vaccine clinics are now set up.  Care homes and housebound will be done in April and the remaining clinics start from 26th April 2024. Text messages have been sent to patients to complete the link to book. Care Co-ordinators will be contacting all patients have no mobile phone numbers over the next month to book in for their vaccines.

  • Criteria is patients aged over 75.

The Practice will be running “drop in” sessions to help patients utilise the NHS App to its full potential and increase your knowledge of how to find test results / order prescriptions / view appointments and referrals / and find local NHS services.

The NHS App is free to download onto a smartphone and tablet devices.

1.     Search the “NHS App” on your device’s app store.
2.    Click “Download”
3.    The NHS App icon will appear on your home screen.

Staffing
  • We have now employed a new Salaried GP at the practice as Dr Summer Nadeem, Dr Nadeem has worked with us for the 18 months as one of our Trainee GPs. Congratulations

Men’s Mental Fitness


Offload is aimed at adult men who have low to moderate mental health and struggling with the pressures of life (no formal medical diagnosis required).

It is a set of 10 mental health workshops using the lived experiences of professional athletes, designed to raise awareness & tackle stigma of mental health/illness by developing self-management toolkit for beneficiaries.

Offload saves lives; it increases confidence & self-esteem, creates better coping mechanisms and participants develop crucial life-changing social connections.
